Zoning Variable Speed Equipment

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

Zoning Variable Speed Equipment is recommended.  To get the best efficiency, many variable speed units are also two stage.  Zoning these systems make sense.  Heating or cooling the whole home on single stage may be tough to do, especially at design temps, however conditioning just a single zone matches closer the load to the capacity.  Even when at design temperatures just heating or cooling less than all of the zones may often keep the unit on first stage and add to the savings.  The key is a modulating by-pass that responds to pick up the excess static as zones close down.  ZONEFIRST has the lowest cost modulating by-pass on the market.  Check out the SPS and RDM or ZDM dampers.  ZONING made simple, by first company in zoning, ZONEFIRST.

Connected Load

Monday, August 10th, 2009

The buzz with utility companies today is all about connected load.  Not many new generating stations are going on-line and utilities are looking for ways to reduce their connected load.  Zoning can reduce the connected load substantially by reducing the number of HVAC Units in a home.  Use one single unit and ZONE IT.  One unit operating will pull less than two smaller units.
